Subway Doodle is a renowned multimedia artist celebrated for his whimsical, New York City-inspired illustrations and vibrant street art. Best known for his signature blue monsters, his work has captured the imagination of fans worldwide.
Subway Doodle has carved a distinctive niche in contemporary street art through his simple methodology: photographing ordinary commuters and digitally superimposing vibrant, blue monsters that interact with human subjects in humorous and sometimes poignant ways. His artwork creates stories that reveal the fantastical potential humming beneath everyday reality.
Due to the popularity of his work, artists around the world have begun using the term “subway doodle” to label their own drawings created while riding the local subway.
Subway Doodle is the only artist, besides Banksy, to be featured in a solo exhibition at the Banksy Museum in New York City. He sold an animated show based on his work to Comedy Central and has created art for legendary music artists Dead & Company, Naughty By Nature, and Doug E. Fresh.
Subway Doodle’s art has been written about in major media outlets, including Newsweek, Esquire, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, and Hi-Fructose. He collaborated with top brands such as the New York Yankees, Apple, Shake Shack, Hyundai, Hurley, the ASPCA, and The American Music Awards.
An active member of New York City’s street art community, Subway Doodle has created murals around the world. He designed window displays for Bloomingdale’s flagship store in Manhattan and painted the iconic pulldown gates of Nathan’s Famous on the Coney Island Boardwalk.
Subway Doodle has directed music videos, commercials, and short films, and animated a commercial starring Daniel Radcliffe. His work in television has earned him two Emmys, dozens of media awards, and has been displayed at the Museum of the Moving Image.
